Getting Started
PomoToki works completely offline and requires no account. Your data lives on your device. Here's how to get going in under a minute.
Choose your mode
The bottom tab bar gives you four modes: Timer (countdown or count-up), Pomodoro (focus/break cycles), Stopwatch (laps), and History. Tap the mode you want to start.
Assign a project (optional)
Before or during a session, tap the project selector to attach your time to a colour-coded project. Add a task or tag too if you want finer-grained tracking.
Start and let it run
Hit the play button. PomoToki keeps running in the background via a foreground service — you'll see a notification with live time. The screen can lock safely.
Your session is saved automatically
When you stop or reset, the session is written to History. Open the History tab to see it, edit it, or add notes.
Timer — Countdown & Count-up
The Timer screen covers two modes in one place: a classic countdown and a free-running count-up. Switch between them with the pill selector at the top of the screen.
Countdown
Set any duration. An alarm fires when time is up and the session is logged automatically.
Count-up
No target — just track how long you've been working. Useful when tasks don't have a fixed duration. Stop and save whenever you're done.
Context assignment
Tap the project chip to link the session to a project, task, or subtask. You can also add free-form tags.
Pomodoro Mode
The Pomodoro technique splits work into focused intervals separated by short breaks, with a longer break every few cycles. PomoToki handles the transitions automatically.
Configure your cycle in Settings
Go to Settings → Pomodoro to set focus duration, short break, long break, and how many cycles before a long break. The default is 25/5/15 with 4 cycles.
Start the first focus phase
Press play. The ring indicator shows progress within the current phase. Cycle dots at the top track completed rounds.
Transitions happen automatically
When a focus phase ends, PomoToki alarms and switches to the break timer. If auto-start is enabled in Settings, the next phase begins without any tap.
Sessions are logged per phase
Each focus block and break block is saved individually in History so you can see the full Pomodoro structure later.
Stopwatch
A full-featured stopwatch with lap tracking. Choose between the clean modern display or the vintage Seiko-inspired dial (Pro).
Lap tracking
Press the Lap button while the stopwatch is running to record a split. Each lap is listed below the dial and saved with the session.
Vintage dial Pro
Unlock the Seiko-inspired analogue stopwatch face. The dial maxes out at 260 dp to keep the lap list visible below it.
Project & task linking
Assign the stopwatch session to a project, task, or subtask just like the Timer. Tap the context chip at the bottom of the screen.
Session segments
Long pauses automatically split a session into segments in the History view, so you can see when you were actually working versus paused.
Projects & Tasks
Colour-coded projects let you group sessions by area of work. Each project can have tasks, and tasks can have subtasks. Tags add a flexible cross-project layer.
Create a project
Open the Projects tab and tap the + button. Give it a name and pick a colour. Colours appear in charts and history filters.
Add tasks inside a project
Tap a project to open its detail screen. Tap Add task. Tasks can be nested: long-press a task to add a subtask underneath it.
Assign sessions to tasks
When starting a Timer or Stopwatch session, tap the context chip and select a project → task → subtask. The full hierarchy is shown in History.
Archive completed projects
Long-press a project and choose Archive. Archived projects disappear from the main list but remain searchable in the Archive Browser (Pro).
History
Every session you complete is stored locally and shown in the History tab. You can filter, edit, and delete individual entries.
Filters
Filter by date range, session type (Timer / Pomodoro / Stopwatch), project, task, or tag. Active filters are shown as a count badge on the filter button.
Edit sessions
Tap a session to expand it, then long-press or use the edit button to change the project, task, tags, or duration. Useful to correct sessions logged without context.
Add manual entries
Forgot to start the timer? Tap the + button in History to add a session manually with a start time, end time, and project.
Pomodoro groups
Pomodoro sessions are grouped by cycle with Focus and Break phases clearly labelled. Tap the group to expand all phases.
Statistics & Dashboard
The Dashboard tab gives you a bird's-eye view of your focus habits. It has three modes — Overview, Pomodoro, and Trackers — plus a monthly calendar view.
Overview cards
The Overview mode shows your current streak, a summary of focus time, and today's focus distribution at a glance.
Monthly calendar
A calendar view where each day's intensity reflects total focus time. Tap a day to see its details.
Streak tracker
Your current daily focus streak and longest streak ever. A home-screen widget shows this at a glance without opening the app.
Peak-hour view Pro
A 24-hour bar chart shows which hours of the day you're most productive, aggregated over the selected period.
Deep-work ratio Pro
The percentage of your focus time that qualifies as "deep work" (sessions above a configurable duration threshold).
Burnout warning Pro
An alert when your recent focus volume significantly exceeds your baseline — a nudge to rest before overworking.
Project breakdown Pro
A pie chart and bar breakdown showing how your time is distributed across projects and tasks for any selected period.
PDF export Pro
Generate a formatted PDF report for any week or month from the Reports screen. Useful for client billing or personal review.
Todoist Integration Pro

Connect in Settings
Go to Settings → Todoist → Connect Todoist. You'll be taken to a Todoist authorisation page in the browser. Approve access and you'll be redirected back.
Your Todoist projects appear in the task picker
When assigning context to a timer session, Todoist projects and tasks appear alongside your local PomoToki projects. They're visually distinguished.
Sessions are logged back as comments
When a session ends with a Todoist task selected, PomoToki posts a time log comment on that Todoist task automatically.
Disconnect any time
Go to Settings → Todoist → Disconnect. Your local PomoToki data is unaffected. The API token is stored only on your device in encrypted storage.
